Political Art

As part of my workshop 'Politics of Change' with my lecturer Euripides Altintzoglou at the University of Wolverhampton, I have been producing a lot of political art as part of my project. I have been looking at corruption within power, also a lot at movements such as instiutional critique. Political in nature, however I like to bring some positivity into the equation. Not everything has to be sad. I try and see a sense of humour in all of this chaos, stops me going mad to be fair.

I see these powerful men as my muses. One of my icons, Elaine de Kooning once said 'I wanted to paint men as sex objects'. For a female artist in the 20th century that was an incredibly powerful way to subvert the muse; I want these powerful men to be my muses.
